Burton
Grange Nursery was established by Viktor and Robert Antscherl in 1946.
During the 1970s and 1980s John Antscherl expanded the company by
propagating cucumber plants and became a highly respected grower in
the Lea Valley.
Over the years we have grown a variety of vegetables and flowers for
nurseries and supermarket chains.
In 1997 we built a state-of-the-art 8000m2 Dutch greenhouse to diversify
from cucumbers to peppers (capsicums) in order to compete with foreign
imports.
We now specialise in cultivating Tropical Hibiscus pot plants and
rooted cuttings in a multitude of stunning
varieties and colours.
To accommodate our plants we have built an additional 3500m2 block
of ultra-modern, climate-controlled Dutch greenhouse.
Environmental issues feature highly in our nursery and we have installed
a thermal screen to conserve energy as well as a system that recycles
water and fertilizers wherever possible.
It is our dedication to producing the highest quality plants that
distinguishes us from large-scale wholesalers and we currently supply
garden centres and the floristry trade in and around London.
